Tips---
  • You can iron the patches on the vest or shirt, but after normal wash and wear (within a short time) the patch will come off.
  • Stapling patches don't take long but it looks showdy and ragged and doesn't last very long on the garment. Also, stapling causes the material to tear easy.
  • Sewing patches is the best way to go. When you sew, use white thread to hide the stitch. Try to make your stitches small with the white thread. Odd as it seems, white thread will hide itself with most colors.
  • You have a choice of a yellow vest with blue borders or a blue denim vest with yellow borders. Go with Blue Denim Vest with the yellow borders to hide the dirt , sweat stains, and food stains that find boys quiet often. The Blue Denim is more durable but it does fade some.
  • If you have a pin that has a tendency to turn on you or falls off all the time, take a small piece of paper, fold it, and pierce it on the post of the pin before you attach the button to anchor it to the vest. It works everytime!
Ideas---

  • You can buy caps from the right sources and sew the R.A. Emblem patch to the cap. Sometimes, it more economical and impressive. Like they say: "It's not what you know, it's who you know."
  • Caps are great for the boys, but it has been suggested to try beret's.
  • To show your patriotism to your country, there is nothing wrong get a flag pin and put it on your vest.
  • When it comes to vests, it is good for formality, but if the boy wants to a fish hook, fly-lure, cross, or even his favorite patch, let him put it on. Have it done in in such a way not to take away, it won't take away from the meaning of the vest. (Royal Ambassadors) That is his vest and it has a certain meaning to him.
  • In order for the vest to have a personal meaning to the boy, have the boy's name embrodered on it. It doesn't have to be fancy or trendy, and it means alot. Also, it shows to whom it belongs to. Very important!
