OPERATION:
SACK LUNCH
March 11th
, Calvary Baptist Church took their Lads and Crusaders to a local women's and children's homeless shelter. The boys brought food items they worked
on and prepared. They made thirty sack lunches for the resident children
of the shelter to take to school and eat. The lunches the Lad and Crusaders
made was a three day supply for the children of the shelter to take to school.
They also inserted a bible verse into each bag with artwork the Lad and
Crusaders made in the chapter meetings. Then they had a tour of the facility and
met many of the people residing there. It was a very eye-opening experience.

FREE BIBLES and FREE LEMONADE:
Great, God and RA inspired Mission Activity that ANY group of RA's can do!!
It REALLY gets bibles in the hands of those seeking BIBLES!!
Mission Project: Here's photo's of 3 of our Crusaders (Greg Huseth, Jr., Luke
Smith, Lad Keller Johnson) and I preparing posters and "in action" giving FREE
BIBLES and FREE LEMONADE last Sat., May 27, 2000 at Clairmont Hills Baptist.
THE PHOTO'S ARE SELF EXPLANATORY!! 18 bibles are now in the hands of special folk
who pulled into our "stand". They were mostly individuals from foreign
countries, such as China, Sweden, Nigeria, West and South Africa. We plan to
expand the "offer" to include FREE JESUS VIDEOS, and bibles in FOREIGN translations. The Mission project was inspired by the boys as we utilized the
Crusader Magazine for May that contained a story of how David Hardin in Alaska
does "Road Kill" Missions!!

We plan to "build" a bamboo "Bible Barn" to sit near the road by the Church.
This will be "HDQ" and somewhat of an "attention getter" to attract the eye of
passing motorist. In addition, 4 signs broadcast the "Free bibles and Free
Lemonade" Future signs will announce "free Jesus Video's" as well as their and
bibles being available in different languages. I started to say "foreign
languages", but that's no longer true. Let me know how your Mission Activities
are going!! How about trying this one??? THE BIBLE BARN!!

Our FBC Mexico RAs restarted 3 months ago after an 8 year period without one. We have 8 dedicated
boys, 2 regular attending dads, and 6 worker/leaders. The meetings are 90 minutes long on Sunday
evenings because we have dinner for the boys each week.
In our frist 3 months we have had a pizza registration rally, worked at the Fall Festival, hosted
a 35 person recognition banquet, served at the Thanksgiving churchwide dinner, helped at the community
Thanksgiving dinner, completed a 4 series Bible study on World Hunger, collected A-Dime-A-Day for
3 months, contributed monthly items to the community food pantry, set out a Christmas Card Postoffice, and held the Lottie Moon Pinewood Derby Day, which raised $407.97.
Our up coming events include a RA/Baptist Men's Chili Contest and Recoginition Banquet in January,
a Sailboad Raingutter Regatta in Febuary, a Recognition Banquet and RA Congress in March, A Men's
Big Fishing Adventure Day in April and a campout at Camp Cedar Crest in May.

It was rough in Florida during last part August and most of September when Hurricane Charlie, Frances,
and Jeane came through. These three hurricanes came through the Orlando, Florida area and caused distruction. Most of the
distruction wasn't caused by the hurricanes [per sae]; most of the distruction was caused by trees being blown
down by the winds from the hurricane. There were gust raching just over 100 mph. That is what caused the trees
to fall down onto homes.
After Hurricane Charlie went through Orlando, the staff of First Baptist Church of Pine Castle asked the North Carolina
Disaster Relief for their assistance. Word got out and other Disaster Relief units responded from other states and associations (in and out
of the state) to assist. This labor of love to our community was based at our church.(First Baptist Pine Castle)
Feeding units, clean-up units, and assesment teams went out from our church to the effected area.
Here's the silver lining the Royal Ambassadors had: They had a tour through the Disaster Relief complex based at
our church. They saw the feeding units, refrigerator trailers, sanitation stations, clean-up trailers with chain
saws and other neccessary equipment, the nerve center of the Disaster Relief complex, and had some free meals, too.
We went to the portable shower trailer and saw how many R.A. boys could be stuffed into a shower stall. As a result,
there were 9 R.A. boys that managed to stuff themselves into a shower stall.
Looking back, the experience the boys had being exposed to the Disaster Relief was something they will never
forget. So, not all bad thing aren't that bad. Ask the R.A. boys and leaders at First Baptist Church of Pine
Castle and they will tell you.
